Test: Handwriting on-screen

Test: Handwriting on-screen
… just messing around with hand-drawn graphics…

new-test.jpg

This little Lamsk was drawn in Alias Sketchbook & saved as a JPEG. The background color was just a screen-clipped swatch. Not ideal. It looks OK here, but if I were to change the background color of the blog, it would no longer float over the background, it would just look like a rectangular swatch. Also, too much work.

JPEG created in Alias

Again, Alias Sketchbook drawing program, on a screen-clipped swatch, saved as a JPEG. Pretty enough, but too much work, and the background is not actually transparent, it just happens to match.

Test image from Word

This was my first attempt at using Word for hand-drawn content. I like Word because it’s so familiar, and it’s super-friendly to ink. The problem with this was that the image automatically saved as a GIF file, which I believe is why the antialiasing came through looking so jagged. It does at least have a transparent background. Close, but once again, no cigar.

    Hi Leo,

It’s fine with me if you want to use that little drawing, he’s called a “Lamsk” and was a trademark of mine when I was a kid :-)

I’m just curious, how did you find my blog? It’s not really very active yet. Also, could you send me the URL for your blog?

I’m flattered that you liked my little drawing,

    Pete
